About Wayne

Wayne has worked as a counsellor, mediator and family therapist since 1987. His formal qualifications are a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling, a Post Graduate Certificate in Professional Supervision and a Bachelor of Commerce.

Over the years, Wayne has worked in a wide variety of settings including: Adult Community Mental Health (the Pupuke Centre), Family Counselling Services (Glenburn Centre and Leslie Centre), Children and Youth (Youthlink Family Trust and the University of Auckland Student Counselling), Palliative Care (Hospice North Shore), Couple Counselling and Mediation (Family Court). Wayne was on the Advisory Panel for the development of the current Parenting Through Separation Programme.

Wayne has appointments available in his private practice Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Along with his private practice, Wayne is employed by Hospice North Shore to provide counselling for families involved with hospice.

Wayne lives with his partner, and one of their three young adult children and the family dog. He loves playing tennis, kayaking, tramping and catching up with friends and family.

Wayne is a registered member of The New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC). He abides by NZAC's Codes of Ethics and attends regular professional supervision.

 

 

Wayne is currently on sabbatical walking the Te Araroa trail. He will be taking referrals again on his return to his practice in April 2019.
